Sexual Dysfunction

Sexual dysfunction is common in the United States, but it is under diagnosed and undertreated because we are reluctant to discuss our concerns and have a perception of a few treatment options. Sexual dysfunction can be related to a decrease in sexual desire, impaired arousal, inability to achieve orgasm, or painful sex (dyspareunia).

Causes: Sexual dysfunction can be caused by gynecologic disorders, medications like selective serotonin-reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) or corticosteroids, or other situations like depression or chronic disease.

Treatment: Treatment is determined by the cause of the sexual dysfunction and can include medication, therapy, ThermiVa treatments, or BioTe hormone replacement therapy. Call us for more information.
